John Lyon signed off an excellent football season in style on Friday 25 April, with a superb 5-0 victory

As a proud member of the Harrow Family of Schools, we work especially closely with Harrow School.

On Friday 28 March, our Year 10 Cadets took part in the Pass-Off Parade in which the Head inspected her Contingent.

In March, a group of Year 9 John Lyon pupils, accompanied by staff, embarked on a memorable journey to Bangkok for an exchange hosted by Harrow International School Bangkok (HS Bangkok).

The John Lyon Chess Championship returned this term for its third year, bringing together the School’s best chess players for a battle of skill and strategy.

In celebration of World Book Day on Thursday 6 March, pupils brought the magic of literature to life as they came in dressed in a fantastic array of characters from their favourite books.

In recognition of National Careers Week, which took place the week commencing Monday 3 March, our Careers team organised several enriching events to inspire and spark career aspirations amongst pupils from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. 

Our 2025 Musician of the Year showcased our pupils' talents in a range of incredible instrumental and vocal performances.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new strategic plan for John Lyon School.

Our seventh annual Talks-on-the-Hill, held on Wednesday 12 February, was another huge success. This year's theme was "The Power of Why".

John Lyon’s annual Online Safety Week, held in conjunction with Internet Safety Day, provides a valuable opportunity for the School community, from Prep to Senior, to reflect on the importance of staying safe online.

Some of our Year 3 and 4 pupils, alongside pupils from other local schools, had the exciting opportunity to participate in an inspiring writing workshop led by award-winning children’s author and poet Neal Zetter.

On Friday 7 February, pupils at both the Prep and Senior School were treated to a special visit from acclaimed singer, songwriter and actor Roger Wright.

Ten girls from Year 7 to Year 10 with a passion for netball enjoyed an incredible opportunity to experience elite-level netball.

The Big Garden Birdwatch takes place from 24 to 26 January, and this week, Reception and Year 1 pupils enjoyed a bird-themed session at Forest School.

Due to the success of our Little Lyons Nursery, we are delighted to now offer 2+ Pre-Nursery entry point at John Lyon.

At John Lyon, we recognise the valuable role that smartphones play in modern life, but we also believe it is essential to teach young people how to use them safely and responsibly.

Last term, pupils represented John Lyon School in the Schools Bible Project 2024 at Westminster Abbey, where we proudly achieved third place in the UK. We are immensely proud of Anoushka and Malek.

The Classics department recently took Year 10 and 11 Classicists on an educational trip to the British Museum. The day was designed to enrich pupils’ understanding of the Greco-Roman world and provide a hands-on connection to their studies.
