Careers

The mission of the careers department is to ensure every Lyonian flourishes in whatever path they take beyond school.

Throughout their Sixth Form journey, students have access to an extensive careers programme, including 1:1 sessions with the career’s adviser, a variety of professional talks, work experience opportunities and so much more.

Our careers department works very closely with our alumni community, allowing current and former students to connect and network. Students also have the unique opportunity to be mentored by Old Lyonians who work in particular sectors.

John Lyon prepares students well for life after they have left school. Students are ambitious and they are well supported with a careers programme that provides personal guidance. They leave the Sixth Form to go on to a range of courses, many of which require a high level of academic achievement.
