CAREERS & MENTORING

We welcome Old Lyonians, parents, guardians and friends of the School to share their experience and skills to support our students career development and empower them to have a better understanding of career opportunities and how they can achieve their career aims.

Our School community is a valuable professional resource for current and former pupils both at the beginning of their careers and throughout their professional lives. Our current pupils have access to the School’s Old Lyonian membership via the Lyonian Association alumni network, which encourages engagement with former students to seek guidance, work experience opportunities, careers events, lectures and talks throughout the academic year.

Our Careers Office has welcomed a number of Old Lyonians, from a range of sectors and professions, who have returned to John Lyon to share their stories from their schooldays and how they have led to where they are now in their careers. We are grateful to all Old Lyonians who have given their time for the benefit of our current pupils.

Pupils have the unique opportunity to be mentored by an Old Lyonian or parent/guardian who works in a sector that interests them. These engagements can be face-to face, telephone, email conversation or via an online platform.

We welcome OLs, parents and friends of the School to visit the School and share your experience and skills with our pupils.  Learn more about such opportunities to be involved here.

Look out for information on our News and Events page for our upcoming career events. If you would like to join our panel of speakers, please email [email protected]
