John Lyon offers a broad education to pupils who aspire to achieve excellence in all they do. As such, the admissions procedure is designed both to reveal applicants’ ability as well as to judge their potential.
Miss Katherine Haynes, HeadJohn Lyon pupils largely come from northwest London, in a triangle between the M4 to the south, M25 to the north and west, and M1 / A5 to the north and east. Our catchment area includes Harrow, Wembley, Stanmore, Pinner, Watford, Rickmansworth, Northwood, Ruislip, Hillingdon, Uxbridge, Ickenham, Northolt, Southall, Ealing, Acton, Edgware, Brent Cross, Finchley, Barnet, Camden, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, as well as other parts of Middlesex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. We became co-educational in 2021 and welcomed girls to John Lyon for the first time, starting at 11+ in Year 7. Since then we have seen an increase in the number of girls applying to the school, and we are delighted to confirm that from September 2023 girls will be able to join us at 13+.
