Embracing Mental Health Awareness Week

We recently celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week, emphasising the importance of maintaining positive mental health and wellbeing. Research indicates that regular exercise can greatly improve our mood and overall health, which was reflected in this year’s theme: ‘Movement’.
Throughout the week, pupils from our Little Lyons Nursery and Reception to Sixth Form participated in various assemblies and activities. These sessions encouraged open discussions about mental wellbeing, the importance of self-care, and ways to support each other.

Highlights from the week included a yoga session and an interactive Mental Health Awareness event in the Senior School library, where students engaged in several themed activities focused on wellbeing and health. The School also participated in ‘Wear it Green Day’, a national initiative to raise mental health awareness. A sea of green filled the School as pupils and staff wore green attire, creating a vibrant display of support raising money for Young Minds a charity that does incredible work in supporting the mental health of young people across the country.

It was heartening to see the School community come together to mark this important week.
