Dinosaur Day

The Little Lyons and Pre-Prep had an amazing time at their Dinosaur Workshop on Wednesday. We had a brilliant morning thanks to Teach Rex. We started with an assembly where we got to meet a life-sized T-Rex named Jam. The children got the opportunity to greet, tickle and feed Jam. Some children were even eaten by him! We learnt about what scientists believe about the T-Rex and how this has changed over time. We took part in games and invetigations to test Jam’s sense of smell and hearing.

After a short bretak, we then learnt how to use a green screen. The pupils aced out a story which was recorded. We then learnt how to edit the film and insert ourselves into different locations with a dinosaur. We had a great time watching our friends and teachers being chased by a dinosaur!

During the last part of our morning, we met some baby dinosaurs in the classroom. We learnt about them and heard their stories before stroking the dinosaurs. Some of us even put our hands or heads inside the dinosaurs mouths and were then covered in dinosaur slobber!
