On 18th May, employees from a variety of backgrounds came along to share their experience working in media with parents and pupils. Two Old Lyonians were welcomed back: Adam Penny (OL 1993) and Theo Gee (OL2012), both of which were Head Boys. It was fascinating to hear about their journey into media as a co-founder and CEO of Connected Pictures and as a freelance director and editor. They shared with us some of their recent film projects and we were certainly stunned by their skills.
In addition we welcomed Arti Lukha and Lucy Dyer, a Senior News Editor at ITV News and an Editorial Development Manager at News Associates. We also welcomed Mr P Treherne, Teacher of English, who leads our film making club during our Co-Curricular Programme on a Friday afternoon. Mr Treherne has worked in a variety of media industries prior to joining John Lyon. This offered the audience an impressive array of panellists for them to ask questions to. This was followed by a browse of employer stands which allowed parents and pupils more intimate discussions with our media representatives.
We thank our speakers for coming along to this event and we hope this will help inspire the next generation who are thinking of going into the media industry.
