An Inspiring Trip to Tate Modern

Year 10 and 12 pupils thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the Tate Modern last week, where they spent the best part of the day in the gallery exploring the major permeant collections as well as the special exhibitions, including Surrealism.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity to see original art work in person, and the consensus amongst the pupils was how much more genuine the pieces looked up close and personal.  Truly inspired by what they saw, the pupils spent a good part of their lunch outdoors sketching and drawing scenes across the river to St Pauls.

We are so lucky to have word class galleries within easy reach of the school and it was a hugely worthwhile trip, and one that has left the pupils truly enthused and inspired for the projects they will embark on in the autumn term.
