Year 6 field trip brings geography to life

Year 6 enjoyed an enriching field trip to Epping Forest and the Debden River, where they gained first-hand insight into physical geography. This valuable opportunity allowed them to work collaboratively as they collected and recorded data during a series of river-based investigations.

Throughout the day pupils worked in teams exploring key features of a river system by comparing two different sites—one upstream and one downstream. By carefully observing and measuring characteristics at each location, they developed a deeper understanding of how rivers change along their course.

As well as strengthening their geographical knowledge, the trip helped pupils develop important skills in collaboration, observation, and independent enquiry. It was a fantastic experience that not only supported their learning, but also helped prepare them for their upcoming transition to senior school.
