 Academic success at A-Level relies on a sound foundation; (I)GCSE grades will reflect a student’s ability to think at a high level. 

To be admitted into our Sixth Form, it is required that students achieve a minimum of 6 (I)GCSEs at Grade 6 or above. For the majority of chosen A-Level subjects, students will have additional entry requirements of a Grade 7 or above.
Please see the following requirements for specific subjects below:

A-LEVEL SUBJECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Art Grade 7 in Art
Biology Grade 7 in Biology and ideally Grade 7 in Mathematics
BTEC Business 6 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above
Chemistry Grade 7 in Chemistry
Classical Civilisation Grade 7 in English and/or a humanities subject
Classical Greek Grade 7 in Classical Greek
Computer Science Grade 7 in Computer Science. If not previously studied, a Grade 7 in Mathematics is required.
Drama Advisable Grade 7 in Drama. A-Level extends on the foundation set in the (I)GCSE course with further opportunities to develop further.
Economics Grade 7 in Mathematics and English Language
English Literature Grade 7 in English Literature and Grade 6 in English Language
French Grade 7 in French
Geography Grade 7 in Geography
History and Politics Grade 6 or 7 History
Mathematics Grade 8 in Mathematics
Further Mathematics Students must achieve 90% or higher at (I)GCSE Mathematics and have been selected to complete
the Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics.
Music Grade 6 in Music. Students should also be instrumentalists or singers of a Grade 6 or above.
Music Technology Preferably students would have studied Music at (I)GCSE or have prior experience/interest in the field.
Philosophy Grade 7 in either History, English Language or English Literature.
(I)GCSE Religious Studies is not essential but can be beneficial.
Physics Grade 7 in Physics and Grade 7 Mathematics
Psychology Grade 6 in English Language and Grade 6 in Mathematics
Spanish Grade 7 in Spanish
