Making a pledge to protect our enviroment

Year 5’s recently made individual pledges to play their part in helping to stop the devastation and loss of our forests which will impact the whole of humanity.

Having learnt about deforestation the pupils felt inspired to act after watching a video about COP26 where world leaders promised to end deforestation by 2030.

As a result, pupils individually created colourful leaves using recycled paper to write what they will do, and what we can all do to help protect our environment.  Some of the pledges included turning of the lights when not needed and using less water when possible.

It was wonderful to see the pupils make such thoughtful pledges and we are very proud of them for their pro-active attitudes towards a cause that is very important to our school community.
