PART-TIME TEACHER OF PIANO (SELF-EMPLOYED)(PREP/SENIOR)
This position will involve contact with children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.
Reports to: Director of Music
Start date: Required for September 2023
Job type: Self-employed, permanent
Hours: Under a day a week to start with, but likely this could grow to two days
Weeks: 34 weeks maximum per annum (term-time only)
About the Candidate
We are looking for an inspirational, creative, and talented Teacher of Piano; someone with a real passion for their instrument, who teaches engaging lessons and helps all students reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will join a team of experienced peripatetic tutors delivering instrumental and (singing) tuition to pupils in the School. You will have excellent instrumental skills, patience, and the ability to support less confident students; good communication skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher, an outstanding musician and a strong team player committed to supporting the work of the Music Department with and the ability to educate our children to the highest standard. They will also demonstrate a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning with excellent classroom practice and the ability to inspire and motivate our children to achieve their full potential. It is essential that the person appointed enjoys working with young people.

THE DEPARTMENT
The Music Department at Quainton Hall is part of the John Lyon Music department led by Mr H Jones. The department at QHS is based in the Halliday Hall (Old Chapel), offering a large hall and practice rooms. The department has a wealth of instruments and has a suitable budget if specific instruments need to be bought.
The Senior School has around 20 VMTs and around 20 Music clubs/ensembles and is based around a 130-seater Music Hall, with several practice rooms and also state-of-the-art facilities for Music Technology.
