Situated on 3 sites (Senior School, Prep School and 28 acre Playing Fields), the School sits within the John Lyon Foundation and alongside the Harrow Family of Schools which includes Harrow School and Harrow International Schools.

The Head and Governing Body are seeking to appoint an engaging, forward-thinking leader to the post of Bursar. With responsibility for leading the School’s financial and operational planning alongside implementation of the strategic vision, candidates will be able to demonstrate proven ability in senior leadership, change management and financial control in complex environments.

Reporting to the Head and a key member of the Senior Leadership and Executive Teams, the Bursar will lead a large and diverse support team in order to ensure the successful delivery of the School’s finances, operations and commercial activity.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative senior leader, with strong entrepreneurial and commercial instincts and be capable of empowering and developing others to ensure the continued success of John Lyon.

Prior experience in the education sector is not essential and applications are encouraged from candidates with commercial, charitable and public sector backgrounds; however all candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the well being and educational outcomes of children aged 3 to 18.

Screening interviews will be conducted by ISBA and short-listed candidates will attend first stage interviews between 12-14 March 2024 with the final stage interviews taking place on Tuesday 19 or Wednesday 20 March 2024.
