Pupils embrace their heritage for Cultural Day

Today we celebrated our very first Culture Day – the positivity and pride emanating from our pupils and staff was an absolute delight to see! From our two-year-olds in the Nursery to our Upper Sixth, pupils proudly wore traditional and cultural dress, beautifully reflecting the warm, inclusive, and diverse community that defines John Lyon.

Culture Day began with a brilliant celebratory assembly in Prep and some fantastic Bollywood dancing at break time. Up at the Senior site, the Red House lawn was transformed for our first-ever cultural fair, where incredible pupil-run stalls showcased food, music, dance, jewellery, games, languages, and traditions from all around the world.

Our Prefect team, despite being only a few weeks into their roles, did an outstanding job managing the events and delivering an exemplary day! The whole John Lyon community are confident at embracing their heritage, traditions and culture, as well as always being excited to learn from their peers.

Together we have raised over £600 for UNESCO.
