Values Day 2022

On Wednesday 11 May, all of our pupils and staff from John Lyon and Quainton Hall (our prep school) came together to celebrate our School Values and mark the end of John Lyon’s historic 145th anniversary year, where we became co-ed, and also kicked off the start of Quainton Hall’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

Following a whole school photograph with over 1,000 people, prep and senior pupils formed mixed age-group teams and took part in activities at John Lyon’s main campus, at our Sudbury Fields and at Quainton Hall in central Harrow. The teams, led by senior pupils, participated in activities that centred around our values and sustainability. Pupils took part in over 30 activities. To name a few, they designed vacuums, went on treasure hunts, learnt about electric vehicles, cooked quick and healthy plant-based meals, learnt about composting, took part in sustainable games, built hedgehog hotels, recycled and looked for bees and other insects. A real highlight was seeing some of our older senior students interacting with our younger prep pupils – supporting and encouraging them throughout the day.

Values Day not only provided us with a unique opportunity to promote and reflect upon our core eight values, but it also allowed us to come together as one 3-18 through-school, from nursery right the way up to sixth form, and celebrate our wonderful community!
