Gap Assistant

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable Gap Assistant with a ‘can do’ attitude to assist with a range of duties and activities across the School including: assisting teachers in classes, games sessions, exam invigilation, school trips, temporary class cover and other duties in-line with the post-holder’s skills and experience such as supporting the School’s Music, CCF,  Art, Sport, STEAM or Drama initiatives. This is an exciting time to join John Lyon as it has just moved towards its first coeducational intake in September 2021 and from being a senior school to an all through 2 ½ -18 school with nursery, thanks to a 2020 coming together with Quainton Hall School in central Harrow.

The successful candidate will need strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to liaise with a wide range of other staff across the school, given the diverse nature of the role. They will also need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and have a willingness to work flexibly with both duties and hours in order to meet the requirements of the School.

Salary: circa £16,000 p.a. FTE (pro-rata c£13,000)

Hours: 40 hours per week x 38 weeks per annum (term time only plus 4 weeks)

Contract: One-year fixed-term contract
