Launch of Little Lyons

We are pleased to announce the launch of Little Lyons, which is the new identity for our 3+ Nursery and 4+ Reception. The new look and feel has been created with help from our youngest pupils and we are really pleased with the outcome achieved.

A lion has been chosen as the animal to fit best on the logo as this is consistent with the John Lyon School logo, as well as other lion graphics from across John Lyon’s Foundation, including Harrow School and John Lyon’s Charity. The pupils liked the idea of a brave yet cute and ‘cartoony’ lion – this was more appropriate and appealing for a Nursery and Reception setting. The lion illustration represents the togetherness of John Lyon’s Foundation community and brand continuity, as well as pride, courage, bravery and fun.

This amazing accomplishment for the School has been a real community effort, and we look forward to moving forward as Little Lyons for our 3 + Nursery and 4+ Reception.

Mr Simon Ford, Headmaster of Quainton Hall School, said: “I am delighted to be able to give our Nursery and Reception their own unique identity and to unveil this publicly. These age groups benefit from specialist teachers and care, and they are deserved owners of the Little Lyons sub-branding, which will come under the overall Quainton Hall brand. This new identity represents not only our strong standalone Nursery and Reception, but also, significantly, Quainton Hall’s first official branding exercise since entering the John Lyon family: this is very much reflected in the thinking and visuals.

It was imperative to us that our pupils were involved in this. They have done remarkably well to assist with the process and I am very proud of them for their help in shaping our plans and direction. I would like to thank them for their excellent suggestions. We now look forward to using the Little Lyons sub-brand along with our John Lyon and Quainton Hall branding.”

Miss Katherine Haynes, Head of John Lyon School, said: “This is a very significant step for our School. To have rebadged the Nursery and Reception, drawing from the branding and history of both Quainton Hall and John Lyon, has really allowed us to demonstrate our ‘oneness’ and has provided us with an opportunity to showcase our through-school approach. We are proud to be the only independent school in Harrow to offer families an excellent co-educational through-school journey, taking three-year-old pupils from our Nursery right the way through to studying their A-Levels at 18 in our bespoke Sixth Form.”

Mr Jesal Suchak, Director of Marketing and Communications at John Lyon and Quainton Hall, said: “From start to finish, this entire process was truly enjoyable. We looked at our branding, values and ethos but, most of all, we were really keen to involve our young pupils as much as possible. I have been part of a number of branding exercises, however working alongside the children in our Nursery and Reception was by far the most memorable and rewarding. We had to of course tailor the branding workshops and activities to the age-appropriate level, and our pupils were more than happy to share their thoughts – especially their favourite animals and why (!) – and work with us for a solution. We hope we have done them proud in our execution of the rebadging of their Nursery and Reception.”
