Payment terms

School fees are collected termly by direct debit or monthly direct debit.

Termly Payment: The annual tuition fee is divided equally across the three terms and is payable with other charges at the start of term.

Monthly Payment: This option allows you to spread the terms’ fees and other charges over several monthly installments. Unlike the termly payment, the School does not administer this service. It is managed by a third party company, School Fee Plan (SFP). At the start of each term SFP settle the fees and any extra charges in full with the School. They then collect these fees and charges from you via direct debit on a monthly basis. The transaction fee for this service is currently 2.99%. The John Lyon School is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Bursaries and Scholarships

We are committed to widening access for local families, enabling the children of those who could not otherwise afford the fees to benefit from our all-round independent school education. Each year, the School makes available a small number of means-tested bursaries to pupils who demonstrate exceptional talent and potential.

All pupils who take the 11+ or 13+ examination in January will be considered for an Academic Scholarship. We also award a small number of scholarships to candidates of outstanding ability and potential in Drama, Music and Sport.
