Football season to end with cup glory in sight for 1st XI
The title of county champions is up for grabs for John Lyon’s 1st Team footballers as they get ready for the final of the Middlesex Schools’ FA Cup.
The final of the 2017-18 Briggs Cup against Twyford High School, will take place at John Lyon’s Sudbury Playing Fields on Wednesday 28th March, from 2.30pm.
John Lyon began the competition strongly, topping their group with victories over St James’ Catholic High School in Barnet and St Ignatious College in Enfield.
A 3-0 quarter final victory against Ealing’s Cardinal Wiseman School meant a semi final against Heathland School in Hounslow, which proved a much closer affair, with John Lyon eventually getting through to the final on penalty kicks.
The final, which will be the last match of the Football season, will give John Lyon another chance to win a title which has previously eluded them.
All members of the John Lyon community are invited to support the team.
