We are committed to widening access for local families, enabling the children of those who could not otherwise afford the fees to benefit from our all-round independent school education in northwest London. This corresponds to the original intention of John Lyon, who, when he founded Harrow School in 1572, stated that he wished to provide an education for children in the parish. Each year, the School makes available a small number of means-tested bursaries to pupils who demonstrate exceptional talent and potential.
Closing date of bursary applications for entry to the School in September 2024 is 4.00pm on Tuesday 31st October 2023.
Please note that in order to apply for a bursary, you will need to have completed a full 11+ or 13+ registration form via the School website, this will include paying the registration fee, uploading a copy of your child’s passport and most recent School report. Please click registration form.

The bursary portal will open at 9.00am on Friday 1st September and will close at 4.00pm on Tuesday 31st October. A link for you to complete an on-line form will be uploaded here on Friday 1st September.
Once you have completed and submitted the on-line form you will receive an email with a link to access the bursary application portal. Please save [email protected] in your email contacts so that messages from this address go straight to your inbox and are not missed.
If you do not receive the bursary application portal link within 24 hours of completing the on-line form, please contact the School.
We strongly advise the following:
a. You do not use a work email address. The firewall generally prevents our email responses for account activation being permitted to enter your inbox. Please use a personal email address.
b. You may have difficulties using a YAHOO email address. Emails to this email provider from us often get blocked or end up in SPAM or JUNK. c. Add the [email protected] and [email protected] to your contacts to ensure that emails are received and not deposited in junk or spam without you seeing them.
