The Fifty Years On reunion - Summer 2010
As part of the Development Office’s alumni relations programme, 14 leavers from 1960 came back to the School, including one from the US and one from France. They enjoyed tea and coffee in the School’s Mall Gallery, attended a Sixth Form Union meeting and had lunch with the incoming and outgoing Heads of School and their teams. Most of the visitors also gave short talks and took part in small-group discussions at a Lower Sixth careers event: included in their number were engineers, accountants, bankers, and one Old Lyonian who enjoyed a career change from microbiologist to Anglican priest.

In an email to Director of Development Mrs Brenda Allanson after the event, OL Peter Thompson praised current students: "They really put themselves out to make us feel welcome and never once did anything other than to show themselves in a good light. The sports facilities now are magnificent and... we are all proud to say we went to John Lyon and of the way you have all taken it forward to make it so much better in every way."

Here are some pictures from the event.
