By Conor Taylor & Mateen Mirza The time had come to enter the magnificent Musical Museum; as we entered we were greeted by a very friendly man who had a great background in music. After all rushing to the gift shop it was time we started the tour. We entered into a delightful room filled with self-playing instruments; this was a miscellany of violins and self-playing pianos and an orchestrian. The curator gave us an intriguing talk about all the amazing instruments. Later on he let Hari have a go at the Pedal Piano. He then showed us a self-playing violin, which Tarandeep put a coin in to get it all running. After the Room with all the instruments in we went up stairs to listen to a Cinema Organ (Wurlitzer) played by the curator. The organ was absolutely fantastic; it contained so many different instruments in one Organ. With a flick of a switch a different instrument could be played, you could also play more than one instrument at a time. The time had come to leave the museum and be on our way. We had a nice walk along a bridge until we came across a pleasant little café alongside the river with food varying from Eggs and Bacon to Sandwiches. We had many great discussions at lunch time mostly about conspiracy theories and Polish coke. It was also a great chance for socialisation between Year 8 and Year 10 students. After a nice meal we had a stroll in the beautiful weather through picturesque Kew Green. Then it was time to make our journey back to School. On the bus journey back Hari found a new friend: Mr Grasshopper; to Hari’s amazement he did not believe a grasshopper could jump, until it jumped onto his face and bit him.
