| Environmental Lesson for the Future - Spring 2009 |
|
By Siv Amin, Year 8
BRE have seven houses on their site, built with a range of sustainable and recyclable materials. When we arrived we were introduced to Shabbir and Clair who had worked for the company for 13 years, they were our guides for the day. They explained the different ways that we could help the environment and warned us about the risks for the future if we harmed it. Afterwards we went to see some of the buildings, all of which helped the environment in some way or other, for example - energy efficient light bulbs, solar panels, wind turbines and much more. Unfortunately, we had to leave… but we all learned how to help the environment and not waste the precious resources we have. |

On Tuesday 3 March several boys went on a trip organised by Mr Dennehy as part of the Physics Gifted and Talented programme. We visited the Building Research Establishment (BRE). The purpose of the trip was to learn about buildings being sustainable to the environment.
