Deputy Headmaster Stuart Miles has achieved his National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) from the National Council for School Leadership. Introduced in 1997, the NPQH is a practical professional qualification rooted in school improvement, which prepares senior teachers and aspiring heads for headship. It is mandatory for all new headteachers in the maintained sector. Congratulating Mr Miles on his achievement, the Headmaster said: "Achieving this qualification has involved a great deal of work and is certainly well deserved. I am keen to support the professional development of our teachers: it means staff are up-to-date in their thinking and can learn from current best practice within the profession. It also reinforces our reputation as a forward-thinking School, enabling us to recruit new staff of the highest calibre."
