Musicals are now an eagerly anticipated highlight of spring at The John Lyon School, with Head of Sixth Form and drama specialist Deborah Gibbs drawing performances of the highest standards from her students.

This year’s JLS production in Harrow School’s professionally equipped Ryan Theatre was Barry Manilow’s 1985 musical, Copacabana, which is based around his hit song of the same name. It was a treat for both ears and eyes, with the School investing heavily in the sets and costumes, while the whole production was underpinned by an impressive group of musicians led by the show’s Musical Director, Jo Rowley Jones.
