Match Report:

The John Lyon School progressed to the Quarter Finals of the ISFA U13 Cup after they ran out 4-1 winners in an exciting match against Kings House School at Sudbury Playing Fields. John Lyon started brightly, but it was Kings House who opened the scoring from close range following a good save from the John Lyon ‘keeper, Jariwala. Not deterred by the early setback, John Lyon produced some excellent passages of play before Lombardi and Onabanjo put them in front with two well-struck long range efforts shortly before the interval.

The second half saw more of the same from the home side, who went 3-1 up from another great strike from Onabanjo. Not giving up, Kings House rallied bravely, putting John Lyon under pressure and were rewarded for their efforts with a penalty with five minutes to play. The well-struck penalty was brilliantly saved to his left by Jariwala and the resulting corner was cleared away. In pushing hard to find a way back into the game, Kings House were unfortunately undone by a superb counterattack in the closing minutes, with Otaruoh slotting the ball past the advancing ‘keeper to secure John Lyon’s place in the Quarter Final draw

Well done John Lyon boys, through to the Quarter Finals!
